Manufacturing Systems Engineer
Aberystwyth
£40,000 to £45,000

James George Recruitment is proud to partner with one of the UK’s leading BioTechnology firms in their search for a new Manufacturing Systems Engineer. This role will focus on supporting the firm’s Manufacturing Leader and Manufacturing team with reviewing existing manufacturing techniques and strategies, and implement solutions that fit their business in line with their Guiding Purpose and Ethos & Values.

The company has a strong, employee-owned culture and alongside the base salary, a profit-share is paid out each year.

The successful applicant will support the Manufacturing Leader with the creation of departmental vision and strategy which spans both the future growth and day to day running of the department, as well as acting as the departmental deputy in the Manufacturing Leader’s absence. The role is a new role, reporting to the Manufacturing Leader. 50% on site working, 50% remote working.

Duties to Include

  • Identifies and drives efficiency, building capacity through continuous improvement whilst maintaining quality.
  • Committed to the firm’s culture, working with an inspiring team environment through collaboration and open communication.
  • Analyse and recommend systems to improve the Manufacturing production.
  • Provide performance reports to advise the Leadership Team and across the company.
  • Encourage an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by providing current statistical information.
  • Supporting the day to day running operations of the Manufacturing function.
  • Develop and embed new systems to monitor production efficiency.
  • Advise on the planning and manufacturing schedule of their products.
  • Works proactively with the Process Engineering team.
  • Implementing automation in an Employee Ownership way.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Technical Engineering and Automation experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Engineering Degree qualified – highly desirable.
  • Experience of Kanban processes.
  • Data analysis skills – Proven statistical and numerical ability.
  • Knowledge and experience of using MRP systems.
  • Team leader experience with the ability to motivate colleagues.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Change implementation and process improvement experience.
  • Project management application delivery.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others in a collaborative manner.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and adapt at short notice.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in a range of Windows based PC applications (e.g. Gmail MS Word, Excel).
